Information about the Choreographer

Kate Marotta is a Massachusetts-based dancer and choreographer who uses movement to explore and express scientific ideas. A Dance and Biology major at Dean College, she creates work that translates complex concepts—like natural frequency, Newton’s Laws, and biomedical ethics—into physical, emotional experiences.

Her choreography has been featured in Dean College productions and Arts Mosaic, and she has attended intensives with the Paul Taylor Company and is currently part of the AMassiT Choreography Mentorship. With experience in both the arts and healthcare settings, Kate is passionate about using movement to bridge the gap between science and storytelling.

She’s always seeking interdisciplinary collaboration, believing that choreography can educate, inspire, and transform.
